FAQs

  • What makes Malvern Grooms different?

We believe you can’t be in this industry if you don’t love animals. We also believe a stressed puppy is tougher to groom than a happy one! For that reason we are a cage free facility; affording your pups the opportunity to expend their energy in our play room.

Accommodations can be made for pets who prefer to stay by themselves.

  • Why does the process take 3-4 hours?

We intake our dogs in the morning and work on them in a “first in / first out” basis. Appointments are usually scheduled every 30 mins between 7:30 am and 11 am. We give you a pickup time roughly 3-4 hours after drop off, at which point we will reach out via text or call and you can come pick up your dog.

Cats! - All cats are scheduled after lunch and have about a 1 hour turn around.

  • Why am I being charged a late fee?

Although we love our play room, sometimes space can be limited. As such we kindly ask all owners make arrangements to pick up within 60 minutes of us reaching out.

All dogs left longer than 60 minutes will be subject to a $15 late fee.

  • What am I signing when I come for the first time?

We do everything we can to make sure your pups are in good hands when you drop them off. However we are dealing with live animals. Although dogs are constantly supervised, all owners understand the risks of bringing their pet to a cage free grooming salon.

  • What is a de-matting fee?

Dematting fees will be applied anytime a dog comes in with their coat physically matted. Removing matts takes time and must be done with absolute care to avoid having the dogs skin rip or get nicked by the grooming blade.

  • How frequently should I have my dog groomed?

It all depends on the breed! But a general rule of thumb is 6-8 weeks, ESPECIALLY for any doodle related breed.

  • When can I bring my puppy in for their first groom?

The vets that we work with say that it’s ok to introduce puppies to the grooming process as young as 12 weeks old. Puppies don’t usually have their full set of rabies at this point however they are exempt until the shots are fully administered.

  • What is an Express Groom?

Express grooms get your pup in and out! Express appointments are scheduled before 8am and will be finished within 60-90 minutes (depending the size of the furry friend). Pricing is the cost of service + an additional $25 since the groomer is coming in outside of our normal business hours.
